How do I use Zoom to join my online class?
Answer
To join a Zoom class meeting with the correct credentials, you must first create a Zoom account.
To ensure that you are recognized in your Zoom classes as a Keyano student, you must sign into Zoom with the SSO feature.
There are 2 ways to create an account with Zoom:
1. You can create an account (or sign in to your existing account) directly from any web browser (e.g., Chrome).
2. You can download the Zoom application onto your device and then create an account (or sign in to your existing account).
To create an account from a web browser visit Zoom.us. Scroll down and sign in using SSO.
Enter the Company Domain as Keyano.
Complete the multifactor authentication for your Keyano account if necessary.
You are now on the Zoom dashboard. If you have created any meetings, or added any meetings to your Zoom account, you can see them here.
If you are joining a Zoom meeting with a link from your instructor, once you have created a Zoom account using the SSO feature, you can simply follow the link provided. When asked to sign in, simply ensure you sign in using the SSO feature, and you will show up in class with the correct name and Keyano email information.
If you would like to download the Zoom application onto your device, you can do so here. You will follow similar steps as you would in a browser, creating your account using the SSO option.
If you try to enter the Zoom meeting with a basic personal account that is not connected to the Keyano domain, you will show up as a Guest, and you will be removed from the meeting after 40 minutes based on Zoom's policy. Additionally, instructor's may choose to remove any participants in the meeting that show up as Guest's for security reasons.
If you need to attend class using a smartphone or tablet, a mobile application can also be downloaded:
